Introduction

The Sensors and Functional Materials theme (CMF) promotes new research initiatives in the study of new functional materials in order to contribute to the development of new embedded sensors in the fields of microelectronics and electrical engineering. The new embedded sensors must meet the societal challenges of connected objects by operating efficiently in highly constrained ambient environments such as dielectric and biological environments (human body, biological tissues, fluids of biological species) or very low temperature environments (space, etc.) or versatile vibratory environments (wheel, vehicle engine, etc.).

CMF's members, with their strong expertise in the field of sensors, are mainly involved in understanding multi-physical couplings (multi-physical and multi-scale modelling) in functional materials while implementing new characterisation and design techniques.
